Love always, Eugene.’ Pickett’s mother is named Deborah. His father’s name is Frank. Mrs. Pickett identified the cemetery’s signature black ribbon, walked her son back to his car, drove him to the cemetery, and made him personally apologize to Eugene’s family, who were still at the gravesite. They accepted the apology. They also called the police. Mrs. Pickett told reporters she still loves her son but added, ‘He’s getting socks for his birthday. Just socks.’
