Kucharski ran a fraudulent towing operation, slapping homemade magnetic signs onto his personal flatbed truck to pose as a tow company, hauling away legally parked cars from apartment complexes and business lots, then charging owners inflated ‘release fees.’ He ran the scheme for nearly a month before a suspicious car owner photographed the truck and noticed the company name — ‘RELIABLE TOWING & MORE’ — was spelled ‘RELIABEL.’ The phone number connected to a voicemail identifying the business as ‘Stan’s cell, leave a message.’ Police set up a sting with a fake illegally parked car and arrested him when he arrived to tow it. Per the detective: ‘The sign said RELIABEL. One word, and he got it wrong. You also misspelled towing on the invoice. It said TOWNING.’ The signs were confiscated as evidence and ‘are genuinely impressive from a distance.’ At least nine victims have come forward seeking refunds.
