Brzezinski cut a functioning drive-thru window into the side of his single-family home on Cleveland’s west side, installing a sliding glass panel and counter, and ran a roughly two-week enterprise selling allegedly stolen electronics, tools, and ‘name brand’ merchandise to drivers who would pull into his driveway, order, and pull forward to the window. He branded it on a hand-painted sign as ‘HOT STUFF EXPRESS: DRIVE THRU DEALS,’ with a chalkboard inventory menu, a designated driveway entrance and exit, and a ‘cash only, no returns’ policy. A neighbor reported a consistent line of cars idling at odd hours, ‘like a Chick-fil-A, but concerning.’ Per the detective: ‘He had a speaker he made the customers order into. He’d say pull around. There was no around. It was his driveway. But the commitment to the bit was, I have to say, total.’ An undercover officer ordered a ‘slightly used’ power drill that matched items from recent burglaries.
